Chi Ro

Julie Stedman

This Mosaic of a "Kell" was inspired by a picture on my note book. It has always fascinated me how they incorporated so many patterns in to each illuminated letter. It was a real challenge to my mosaic skills to be able to create something so splendidly ornate.

This Kell is from the gospel according to Matthew and represents the monogram of the Greek form of Christ's name (Chi-Ro, XP)

The Original can be seen in Trinity College Dublin.

Rivers on Mars

Maria Stewart

My piece reflects ancient frozen rivers in amongst the swirling red dust storms.

He Wishes for the Clothes of Heaven

Diana Storey

"Heavens Above"made me think of a beautiful poem by W.B.Yeats, He Wishes For The Cloths Of Heaven, which seems to lend itself to a visual, textural interpretation.

He Wishes For The Cloths of Heaven

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet;
But I,being poor,have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

I have used stained glass, ceramics and jewellry.
